Dear valued Customer,

Hope you had a great summer holiday! This month silkClick.com would like to focus on the very special "mudmee" Thai silk. Mudmee or tie-dye weaving technique provides the fabric with unique patterns and colors the northeast Thailand is so well known for. In tie-dye weaving the dye is applied to the threads prior the actual weaving. The thread (weft or warp) is tied into bundles and different dyes are applied to create the final fabric pattern or design. The thread is then woven into fabric resulting in elaborate designs, requiring lots of commitment from the weavers. The patterns, colors and styles used in Thailand recall the cultural heritage which has been handed down through generations. Hope you will enjoy our attempt to reveal the secrets of tie-dye Thai silk.
